Who We Are
The Montessori Training Center of St. Louis is an affiliate of the Association Montessori Internationale, offering Montessori teacher training at the Primary (3-6) and Assistance to Infancy (0-3) level in St. Louis, Missouri. The Training Center is accredited by MACTE (Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education), which is recognized by the US Department of Education. We have been training Montessori teachers in St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri since 1972.
The Lab School is operated under the auspices of The Montessori Training Center of St. Louis providing an authentic, urban Montessori model benefiting from continuous pedagogical oversight by the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis and offering parent education and other outreach programs within the Greater St. Louis community.
What We Do
We operate two concept classrooms: A Young Children’s Community (YCC) and a Children’s House. The YCC has a enrollment cap of 8 young children from 15 months to 3 years; the Children’s House can accommodate 30 children from 3 – 6+ years.
Our classrooms are 21st Century, world class, cross-cultural learning communities that employ classic Montessori methodology and prepare the children in our care to achieve at their highest levels academically, as well as enjoying social, emotional, and physical wellness.
The MTC Lab School at Grand Center admits students of any race, color, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational, admission policies, assistance programs and any school administrated programs.
